Protección anticaídas para enmarcadores Charla sobre seguridad
Falls are the leading cause of death in construction work and framers can face more unique fall hazards than other trades.
Fall arrest is a common form of fall protection used on framing jobs however, this form of protection requires a solid rescue plan to walk away from the incident safely. Although it remains an option, we will look at other ways to protect framing workers from falls.
- When possible, avoid the fall hazard completely.
- This can be done by using tool extensions.
- Exterior walls can be constructed as completely as possible from the ground.
- Frame non-load-bearing interior walls after the roof after the roof is framed.
- Once this is done a rolling scaffold can be used to place rafters.
- When not possible, use barriers.
- Use guardrails around any walkable surfaces being used such as stairwell openings, deck frame perimeters, and second-floor exterior walls prior to being raised.
- Guardrails can be temporary and built onsite.
- Anchors and Harness
- Once other options are exhausted an appropriate anchor and harness may be used.
- Fall Restraint – used to keep a worker from reaching a fall hazard.
- Fall Arrest – used to limit the distance and consequences of a fall.
- Where possible, fall restraint is desired.
- Once other options are exhausted an appropriate anchor and harness may be used.
When a personal fall protection system will be used, ensure that it is customized to the person and task. It should be used as a last resort.
