Understanding Your Benefits
Workers’ compensation coverage provides for all reasonable and necessary medical care for job-related injuries or occupational diseases. This includes fees for medical, surgical, hospital, nursing, ambulance and other related services. It also includes costs for medication, crutches, braces, supports, prosthetic devices and physical rehabilitation. You may also receive reimbursements for certain travel expenses for authorized medical treatment or time off of work related to a workplace injury.
TTD (Temporary Total Disability)
Benefits paid to an injured worker who is unable to work, as authorized by a physician. The TTD benefit amount is calculated according to state statute as 70 percent of the employee’s weekly average wage, not to exceed $771 per week.
PPI (Permanent Partial Impairment)
Benefits allowed for a workplace injury resulting from an on-the-job accident or occupational disease that is permanent but does not leave the injured worker totally disabled. Payment is based on the extent of the injury according to the workers’ compensation benefits schedule.
PTD (Permanent Total Disability)
Benefits allowed for disability from an on-the-job injury or occupational disease resulting in permanent and total disability. Your claims adjuster will work with you to find vocational rehabilitation to learn a new suitable form of employment if possible.
